Beauty in the Everyday.

It hasn't been beautiful.
Much of our town lay in ruins.
Everywhere we go we see the destruction.
From the back of the van we hear the perception of two little boys.
Our eyes still brim with tears as we drive through town and into our subdivision.
We stand by virtually helpless as our friends, neighbors, co-workers and classmates pick up the pieces attempting to move on.
It is gonna be a long haul.
It's difficult for us to know how to move on.
The boys are back in school and Daddy is back at work.
We have a home.....
but most importantly
We have each other.
And we are so very humbled and grateful.

He has given us beauty in the everyday.
God brings beauty out of ashes.
So we draw near to Him.

  1. Nanc,
Thank you for posting those pictures! We need to be reminded of those that have lost everything except for the clothes on their backs! and most importantly they have each other. It is so easy for us to go on in our busy, busy lives and not stopping to pray for those dear souls! Our hearts are definitely with those that lost so much in their lives.

  2. So glad you are all okay! Thank you for posting these pictures and reminding us of what those in your community are going through. Keeping them in our prayers as they continue to work to pick up the pieces and rebuild.
