Putting the Pieces Together

Many of the questions as of late are so inquisitive, purely honest and interesting!  The wheels are turning overtime! :)
After whispering suspiciously, they came to me with this;
"Mom?"
"Yes, boys..."
"Were there cars around when you were a kid?"
This is all part of putting the pieces together right!? Or do they perceive me as that old!?
